UCLA has published a press release at https://newsroom.ucla.edu/ on a research recently published in Science Advances led by JIFRESSE Director Rong Fu, titled “Anthropogenic warming has ushered in an era of temperature-dominated droughts in the western United States”.  This work has also been reported by LAtimes, Washington Post, SF Chronicle (https://www.sfchronicle.com/weather/article/california-drought-climate-19887198.php), NIDIS (drought.gov) and UN office for disaster risk reduction, as well as more local newspapers.  According to the study, climate change is identified as the main driver of worsening drought in the Western United States.
